The Threshold of a New Beginning
Every challenge carries a story within it—a narrative waiting to emerge, only told when I am brave enough to listen and respond. For years, I approached my creative work through the lens of an inherited tale: a script defined by expectations, well-worn
routines, and the quiet hum of “this is how it’s done.” It was safe, predictable, and, over time, stifling.
But lately, something deeper has begun to stir. Beneath the surface of familiar habits lies a new sense of urgency — not to give up and abandon the story, but to rewrite it. To craft new chapters that feel alive, raw, and unapologetically mine.
This isn’t about starting over. It’s about reimagining, and transitioning.
The challenges I once saw as barriers now reveal themselves as thresholds—doorways into new expressions and experiences. Each obstacle has become an opening line, rich with tension and possibility. They no longer whisper warnings of failure and shame; instead, they ask: What happens next?
And this time, my answer isn’t cautious. It’s curious. I no longer approach my work with a need to hide or conform. Instead, I lean into the unknown, letting questions lead the way. What might I create if I stopped fearing rejection? If I welcomed uncertainty and fear. What if I no longer feared being ‘found out’ because I’ve ‘come out’?
This new chapter isn’t perfect, and it isn’t polished. But it’s mine. And for the first time, I feel like that’s enough.
